Former President of Tau Sigma National Honor Society
At Florida International University (FIU)
Tau Sigma National Honor society is an honor society for transfer student. Our mission is " to promote and recognize excellence of transfer students."It is an invitation based organization. After one's first semester as a full time transfer student, if you earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher, you will receive an invitation from Tau Sigma.Â
When I received my invitation, I gladly accepted it not knowing what the future would hold for me. A year after my induction ceremony into the Phi Chapter of Tau Sigma at FIU, I was elected as President.
As the President, my main duties were to represent the chapter in a professional manner, lead our organization and oversee all other position in our Executive Board. Alongside the E-board, I lead two Induction Ceremonies on September 23, 2018 and January 27, 2019.Â
I also represented our chapter at different events including the Tau Sigma's annual Conference at Hard Work Hotel in Orlando in the Fall of 2018 with our Vice President and Social Media Chair.

GlobeMed is an organization that focuses on Global issues, partners with different organizations, and underdeveloped countries to bring solutions to Global issues. FIU’s chapter partners with Escuela De La Calle which is a school located in Guatemala. My last project as an undergrad will be an internship with GlobeMed to Guatemala where I will serve as the coordinator of the internship. My team and I will spend 4-8 weeks in Guatemala during the summer of 2019  assisting Escuela De La Calle (EDLAC) as assisting teachers, building houses, and also serve at the nearby clinic when our help is needed.
Prior to the trip, I will be coordinating all the logistics of the trip and the curriculum to be used to teach at EDLAC.
